Domain Awareness
Athena
Athena is a program sponsored by the Counter Narcotics and Terrorism Program Office (CNTPO) to develop, integrate, and test a comprehensive Maritime Domain Awareness (MDA) capability that promotes interchange of timely and actionable surface vessel intelligence among various local, state, and federal agencies. Raytheon Solipsys solutions are being leveraged for many aspects of the Athena architecture and provide the Common Operational Picture (COP) using various sources of data including marine surface search radars, cameras, and the standard shipboard broadcast system known as Automatic Identification System (AIS). Using a suite of Raytheon Solipsys products including TDF, iTAC, MSCT and ESPRIT, Athena performs the following functions:
- Integrates multi-sensor and data mining capabilities, visualization, correlation methods, and communications for improved identification/detection.
- Yields spatial and temporal fusion for hierarchical and feature rich domain extractions, interactive monitoring, event query, and discrimination knowledge.
- Provides scaleable and configurable command center of relevant maritime, air and undersea track data in a single integrated picture of the maritime domain for effective marine domain monitoring and surveillance.
- Improves target discrimination, robust tracking, effective decision support.
- Coordinates distribution of information to First Responders to facilitate rapid and effective response for interdiction against potential maritime threats.
- Cooperative interdiction actions/planning, actionable intelligence sharing.
