Solutions
Homeland Defense
Raytheon Solipsys has been actively involved in important and highly visible homeland defense initiatives since hours after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. Working closely with our government customers, our personnel have deployed sophisticated homeland defense and surveillance solutions across the country, and we continue to support these systems on a 24x7 basis. Our mature products and domain expertise, coupled with our agile development model, allows us to quickly integrate and field highly-capable solutions that counter emerging threats.
NORAD Contingency Suite (NCS)
Immediately after the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, at the request of the US Air Force and North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), Raytheon Solipsys quickly applied its MSCT and TDF technology and associated services to establish the NORAD Contingency Suite (NCS) system. NCS provides military personnel and Government officials with airborne threat recognition capabilities and facilitates the exchange of time-critical, decision-quality information among supporting agencies and systems. Leveraging a terrestrial communications backbone, high-performance networked MSCT engines have been deployed in fixed and mobile configurations around the country to recognize and track aircraft and other potential airborne threats operating within US airspace. The NCS system operates 24x7 and regularly processes thousands of tracks and plots per second. Raytheon Solipsys continues to work with the Air Force and NORAD to optimize and extend the capabilities and reliability of the NCS system.
Vigilare
The Vigilare Air Defence System Project (also known as Project Air 5333) will replace the existing ground-based air defense command and control systems of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). Vigilare will provide capabilities to enable the Australian Defence Force (ADF) to conduct surveillance and battle space management missions on and over continental Australia and up to some distance from the coastline. Additionally, Vigilare will enable the conduct of basic and advanced air defense skills training. Raytheon Solipsys is under contract to Boeing Australia Limited (BAL) to deliver the Data Processing and Display (DPD) CSCI for use on Project Air 5333 Vigilare for the Royal Australian Air Force. The Solipsys products, TDF and MSCT, are the enabling technology for this new capability.
