Take Your Kids to Work 2007

FULTON, Maryland (April 26, 2007) – Solipsys, a Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) subsidiary, recently hosted "Bring Your Child to Work Day." Eighteen children between the ages of eight and fifteen participated in the event. Planned activities were held in the morning, with children shadowing their parents in the afternoon.
The morning's activities started with breakfast and a "Welcome" address by Raytheon Solipsys President Mark Trenor. "The whole concept of 'Take Your Child to Work' is an outstanding idea -- on multiple levels," stated Mr. Trenor, "The opportunity to establish a connection to the workplace and provide context for our families is fabulous, and I know it's greatly appreciated by the kids that we were able to host in April."
After breakfast the children learned about security through a fingerprinting activity that exposed them to the different uses for fingerprints in maintaining proper facility security. As well they had their pictures taken and were given honorary employee badges as a souvenir.
A Raytheon Solipsys' Modular Command Post System (MCPS) was erected and the children were also given an interactive demonstration of the Tactical Display Framework (TDF) product. Following the MCPS activity, the program management group taught the children about interpreting requirements, identifying scope, adhering to a program's budget, and customer interaction with an exercise building terrariums.
Children had the opportunity to interview Solipsys employees about their careers in a conversation café activity. To round out the morning's activities, children, parents and employees were treated to a lunch and children received a Solipsys goodie bag.
